Overview of working principle:
The spring accumulator ring is a high performance seal fitted with a corrosion resistant metal accumulator spring inside and an engineering plastic jacket outside. The seal is fitted in the sealing groove and the permanent spring force given to the sealing jacket by the pressure of the spring combined with the system pressure causes the sealing lip to press against the sealing surface of the groove, thus creating an excellent seal. The spring provides permanent spring force and vibration compensation to the sealing jacket to compensate for the wear of the sealing lip and the slight eccentricity of the fit, resulting in a continuous good seal at both high and low pressures.
Performance advantages:
excellent wear resistance and self-lubrication
excellent chemical compatibility
excellent resistance to high and low temperatures
good resistance to deformation and extrusion
suitable for high speed movements (up to 15m/s )
Good ageing resistance and excellent weather resistance
FDA, NSF, USP VI and other food and medical grade approvals -
Excellent resistance to high pressure, withstanding pressures of over 2000 bar with retaining rings
The grooves are designed to meet AS4716, JIS B2401, MIL-G5514F and DIN3771 standard O-ring grooves.
Spring Accumulator Rings are special seals developed for high temperature corrosive, ultra-low temperature, non-lubricated, low friction applications. The combination of different formulations of engineering plastic composites, high grade engineering plastics and corrosion resistant metal springs are perfectly suited to meet the increasingly demanding working requirements of industry. In addition to sealing applications in high temperature corrosive environments, the seal lips can also be used in reciprocating and high speed rotating conditions due to their low coefficient of friction, stable sealing contact pressure, excellent pressure resistance and tolerance of large radial deflections; the spring accumulator ring has superior sealing performance and service life compared to rubber products.
