Coated o-ring (O-ring) is a combination of rubber elasticity and sealing with Teflon chemical resistance. It is made of silicone rubber or fluorine rubber inside and Teflon FEP or Teflon PFA covered with relatively thin. This rubber combined with Teflon o-ring will have excellent sealing properties.
General rubber o-ring (O-RING) is easy to wear, chemical corrosion resistance and poor gas penetration resistance (except perfluorinated elastomer), pure Teflon O-ring hardness is higher and can resist compression but poor elasticity. Coated with Teflon FEP/Teflon PFA ORING, it has good solvent swelling resistance and chemical stability (unless it is attacked by metal, fluorine and some halides at high temperature), and good elasticity in the o-ring near the rubber. The Teflon FEP/ Teflon PFA has a very small coefficient of friction (only 0.1 to 0.2) and excellent gas permeability resistance, which makes the coated o-ring truly suitable for use in harsh environments.
The combination of the Teflon FEP/Teflon PFA cladding with the rubber inner core, which is compact and seamless, makes the whole o-ring of the coated type maintain consistent sealing. The elastic and compressive strain of all points on the o-ring is uniform, and it can be repeatedly installed and used under continuous pressure. As the pressure of the medium increases, the o-ring is compressed as a whole. The coated O-RING is like a liquid with high viscosity, transmitting the pressure acting on it to all directions without reducing.
The existence of Teflon FEP coating makes the coated o-ring have good anti-hardening and anti-brittleness. Meanwhile, the inner core made of silicone rubber or fluorine rubber makes the sealing ring still maintain good elasticity at the high temperature of 200℃.
The test results of Diwei FFKM rubber, FKM rubber and coated o-ring with FEP/PFA are shown in the compression Diweice. The coated o-ring, which combines the physical properties of silicone rubber or fluorine rubber with the chemical properties of Teflon FEP/ Teflon PFA, has good compressibility resistance while maintaining the properties of rubber.

Coating material
